Yes, but fewer than Google suggests. We found 1,425 storage facilities whose Google listing says "Open 24 hours" every day, in 30 states and 502 cities. When we checked their own websites, 162 confirmed 24/7 gate access and 1,119 only let tenants in during set gate hours, most often 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. We could not confirm gate hours for the other 144, so call before you rent.

Texas leads with 57 facilities whose own website confirms 24/7 gate access, followed by Georgia (15) and Illinois (11). Across all 24 states with at least one, we have confirmed 162.

It can mean two things. One is 24-hour gate access: you can drive in and reach your unit at any hour using a gate code or app. The other is a 24-hour office or rental kiosk where you can sign up or pay at any time. A facility can have one without the other, so check which kind you are getting before you rent.

Texas has the most in our directory with 329 facilities listed as open 24/7, followed by Florida (214) and California (108).

Houston, TX has the most with 37 facilities, followed by Orlando, FL (29) and Chicago, IL (28).

1,149 of the 1,425 facilities we list show a price on their own website. Median lowest online monthly price by unit size: 5 x 5: $23 at facilities with set gate hours (907 prices). 10 x 10: $68 at facilities with set gate hours (1,014 prices). 10 x 20: $117 at facilities with set gate hours (905 prices). So far we have fewer than 10 prices per size from facilities with confirmed 24/7 gate access, so we cannot yet say whether true 24/7 access costs more. Prices change often and online specials vary, so ask whether 24-hour access is included or an add-on.

The "Open 24 hours" status comes from each facility's public Google listing (checked October 2026). Gate and office hours come from the facility's own website, and each facility page shows the date we checked it. Hours can change, so always confirm access with the facility before you rent.

Where 24-hour gate access is offered, facilities typically give each tenant a personal gate code or app access when they rent. Ask the facility how after-hours entry works and whether every unit is reachable at night.
